"Moreshet" – Promoting Positive Communication and Addressing Cyberbullying

The “Moreshet” program aims to transform communication among students in grades 3-6, promoting positive behaviors both in the classroom and on social media. Grounded in international research on effective programs, it emphasizes the values of respectful speech and a generous perspective, aligned with the Jewish-Israeli annual cycle.

Program Goals
  • Foster positive language and discourse among students in grades 3-6, both within the school community and across social media platforms.
  • Equip students and educators with effective strategies to combat issues such as shaming, bullying, and social exclusion.
  • Provide tools that encourage respectful and constructive communication throughout the school year.
  • Collaborate with students to create impactful and shareable content that reinforces the principles of positive communication and broadens the reach of these principles.

The Secret to Success

Program Goals
  • The program's effectiveness is built on three core educational principles:

    • Gradual Process Work: Following a “cumulative model,” the program promotes deep, internal change through a structured, progressive process over time.
    • Key Experience: Complementing the cumulative model is a “key experience” – a high-impact, short-term emotional event with lasting effects. In this case, the program includes the play “As If You Are Air.”
    • Annual Cycle as a Catalyst for Positive Speech: The Jewish-Israeli annual cycle serves as a thematic framework, integrating its rich educational and social values into the learning process.
Program Structure
  1. Series of Sessions: 8 interactive sessions where students learn, experience, and apply new insights and tools. Each session concludes with a social media task to reinforce learning.
  2. "As If You Are Air": A compelling and emotionally resonant play that motivates students and encourages teacher involvement to promote positive behavioral change, followed by a discussion.
  3. Teacher Workshops: Two sessions aimed at engaging and empowering the educational staff, equipping them to effectively guide and support the program’s implementation.
